The Sons of the American Revolution exists to support patriotic, historical and educational programs and to unite and promote fellowship among the descendants of those that fought and sacrificed to achieve the independence required to institute a free and independent government.  Our members are direct descendants of patriots that fought for our independence.

Watch Rap A Tap Center for the Arts as they display their Tap and Jazz expertise! They will also teach us a few moves. AQUAFEST! The community is invited to swim, splash, and play at San Diego's Largest Family-Friendly Pool Party. AquaFest is open to all, and a fun schedule of activities is planned for swimmers of all ages such as recreational swimming, an inflatable in-water obstacle course, swim safety demonstrations on appropriate life jacket use, rescue techniques, CPR, and first aid, Parent & Tot swim lesson workshops.

Fifth generation Tai Chi Master, Henry Cheng along with his students from the Tai Chi Wellness Center, located in Clairemont right across the street, will be  demonstrating  Tai Chi (a moving meditation ), swords and saber,  Tai Chi self-defense and pushing hands.

Family Day Food

Start the day off with the Recreation Council’s fundraising Pancake Breakfast in the Recreation Center from 8 am to 9:30 am with all proceeds benefitting the South Clairemont Park and Recreation Council. Thanks to Hey Neighbor for providing volunteers and to our local Starbucks  for donating coffee for the fundraiser!

ABOUT CLAIREMONT FAMILY DAY

Clairemont Family Day is program of the South Clairemont Park and Recreation Council, a nonprofit association that supports the South Clairemont Parks, in partnership with the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department. All money raised by the Council benefits the Clairemont neighborhood parks and recreation centers.

How do I volunteer for Clairemont Family Day?

We love our volunteers and all of the community support for the event! If you can lend a hand, please reach out to us via email here: clairemontfamilyday@gmail.com. We have volunteers that serve on the Clairemont Family Day Committee, which meets monthly the second Thursday of the month at the South Clairemont Recreation Center, and we have many volunteer opportunities the day before and day of the event.

Is there parking at Clairemont Family Day?

Parking at Clairemont Family Day is limited to street parking. We encourage everyone to park at Clairemont High School and take the street trolley to the event, sponsored by Laura Kelley Real Estate and Simone De Lira of Fairway Mortgage. We also encourage people to bike to the event. Bike parking will be available on the tennis and basketball courts during the event.

Are there vegetarian or vegan food options at the event?

Yes! Our 2023 food vendors will vegetarian options.

Who runs Clairemont Family Day?

Clairemont Family Day is a special event of the South Clairemont Park and Recreation Council in partnership with the City of San Diego Parks & Recreation Department. The event supports the South Clairemont parks and recreation center & Tecolote parks and recreation center.

What is the South Clairemont Park and Recreation Council?

The South Clairemont Park and Recreation Council is a nonprofit association that supports the Clairemont neighborhood parks. The Council is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt association and a registered charity with the Registry of Charitable Trusts through the Attorney General of the State of California. Proceeds from the event benefit the Clairemont neighborhood parks and recreation centers as well as Clairemont Family Day. For more information about the Council, please contact southclmtreccouncil@gmail.com. Another way to get involved with the parks is by joining the City of San Diego South Clairemont Community Recreation Group. The South Clairemont Community Recreation Group is looking for new members. Membership is free and open to the public. The Community Recreation Group serves as an advisory group to the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department and facilities include South Clairemont and Tecolote Recreation Centers as well as Mt. Acadia Park, East Clairemont Athletic Area and Western Hills Neighborhood Park. Meetings are held monthly on the second Thursday at 5:00 PM. More information is available by calling the South Clairemont Recreation Center at (858) 581-9924 or Tecolote Recreation Center at (858) 581-9930.
